It threads together the four places every traveller talks about — Sigiriya, Kandy, Ella and Galle — at a pace that leaves room for long lunches, viewpoints and the unplanned moments that make Sri Lanka special.

   Touchdown & into the Cultural Triangle

   Colombo Airport → Sigiriya

   Meet your chauffeur at arrivals and settle in for the drive to Sigiriya. Depending on your landing time, stretch your legs at the Dambulla cave temples en route or simply unwind at your hotel with the rock fortress on the horizon.

   Sigiriya Rock & Dambulla

   Sigiriya

   Climb Sigiriya at first light — frescoes, the mirror wall, the lion's-paw gateway and a summit view over a sea of green. After a rest, visit the golden cave temples of Dambulla, then watch the sunset from Pidurangala Rock, the classic viewpoint facing Sigiriya itself.

   Spice road to Kandy

   Sigiriya → Matale → Kandy

   Wind south through Matale's spice gardens, where cinnamon, nutmeg and pepper grow along the roadside. In Kandy, circle the lake, browse the central market and join the evening ceremony at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic as drummers echo through the shrine.

   The train to the hills

   Kandy → Nanu Oya → Ella

   Board the legendary hill-country train and ride one of the world's most beautiful railways — waterfalls, cloud forest and endless emerald tea terraces. Your chauffeur meets you in Ella, a laid-back mountain town with a big travel-café scene and bigger views.

   Ella's peaks & bridges

   Ella

   Hike Little Adam's Peak for sunrise (an easy 45 minutes), then walk the rails to the Nine Arches Bridge to watch the blue train steam across the jungle viaduct. Afternoon free for the Ravana Falls, a cooking class or a swing over the tea fields.

   South to the fort city

   Ella → Galle

   Descend from the hills to the palm-fringed south coast. Arrive in Galle Fort — a living UNESCO World Heritage city of Dutch ramparts, church spires and boutique-lined lanes — in time for the nightly ritual: sunset on the fort walls by the lighthouse.

   Coast road home

   Galle → Colombo Airport

   A slow morning in the fort — coffee, galleries, one last rampart walk — then the expressway back to Colombo. Optional stops at a turtle hatchery or stilt-fishermen viewpoints on the way to your flight.
